What are Boston Cream Donuts?
What are Boston Cream Donuts? They’re famous! You can find these donuts in bakeries, cafes, and grocery stores all around the world. But what exactly is inside a Boston cream donut that makes it so special?
Boston Cream Donuts is a famous pastry in the Boston area, but they’re also available elsewhere. These pastries consist of donut dough filled with chocolate and vanilla custard and then topped off with icing or glaze. I first had one at my friend’s birthday party, where her mom made them for all the guests. They were delicious! What makes these so great? It’s their rich flavor, fluffy texture, and sweet taste. When you bite into one of these bad boys, you’ll understand why it’s called Boston Cream Donuts!
Some tips for making Homemade Air Fryer Doughnut Holes:
- Spray your basket with cooking spray or line your air fryer with parchment so the donuts do not stick while cooking up a batch.
- This recipe was prepared in a basket-style air fryer, but it will work in nay Air Fryer, either basket or oven model. I have also made these donut holes in the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, GoWise, PowerXL, Cosori, Instant Pot Crisp Lid, and Meathly Lid over the years. The recipe will remain the same; the cooking time may change a bit.
- Depending on your Air Fryer, you may need to flip them halfway during the cooking process.
Serve them while they are warm. - You can use any type of pudding that you want, including prepared pudding.
- If you do not have a piping bag, you can use a Ziploc Bag, and cut the end off.
How To Store Air Fryer Boston Cream Donut Holes
These are best eaten soon after making them, as they cool. The biscuit dough will harden. But, if you have any leftovers, let them cool to room temperature, and then place them into an airtight container. Since the pudding has milk in it, it’s best to refrigerate them.
You can either eat them cold or reheat them in the microwave.
