Instructions
Prepare the apple blooms:
- Slice the top off of each apple then use a teaspoon to scoop out the core.
- With a paring knife, make two circular cuts in the apple. Place it cut side down on a cutting board and slice crosswise, careful not to cut through the core.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, both sugars, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
- Fill each apple with two caramel squares, then brush generously with the melted butter mixture on top.
For oven:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and grease a small baking dish with cooking spray.
- Place the prepared apples in the baking dish and bake until the apples are tender, about 30-40 minutes.
Air fry:
- Arrange the prepared apples in the air fryer basket and bake at 350 F for 15 to 20 minutes, or until tender.
Serve:
- Serve warm topped with ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.
