Instructions
- Open a can of biscuit dough and split each biscuit in half.
- To prepare the basket, lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray or line with air fryer parchment paper.
- On a cutting board roll out dough with a rolling pin or flatten each biscuit by hand on your kitchen counter or cutting board, until they are a ¼ inch in thickness.
- Spoon 1-2 teaspoons of pizza sauce into the center of each biscuit. Then, add a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella, plus any additional toppings, keeping them all in the center of the biscuit.
- Lift opposite sides of the biscuit and pinch them together. Then follow the same process with the other two sides around the filling. Pull all pieces together making a small round pillow. Pinch and twist, closing each dough-filled ball tight so the ingredients don’t leak out.
- Place them on the baking sheet until you are finished shaping all the dough balls. Air fry at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from air fryer basket and serve warm.
NOTES
Option dough choices: If you don’t have precut biscuit dough roll out pizza dough on a floured cutting board and use kitchen shears or a knife to cut into 4×4 inch squares. If you have puff pastry dough you can follow same process as pizza dough.
Optional ideas for dough topping: baste with unsalted butter and fresh herbs, brush olive oil over top and sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, pinch of sea salt or red pepper flakes. A garlic butter mixture will also taste great.
