Instructions

  1. Open a can of biscuit dough and split each biscuit in half.
  2. To prepare the basket, lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray or line with air fryer parchment paper.
  3. On a cutting board roll out dough with a rolling pin or flatten each biscuit by hand on your kitchen counter or cutting board, until they are a ¼ inch in thickness.
  4. Spoon 1-2 teaspoons of pizza sauce into the center of each biscuit. Then, add a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella, plus any additional toppings, keeping them all in the center of the biscuit.
  5. Lift opposite sides of the biscuit and pinch them together. Then follow the same process with the other two sides around the filling. Pull all pieces together making a small round pillow. Pinch and twist, closing each dough-filled ball tight so the ingredients don’t leak out.
  6. Place them on the baking sheet until you are finished shaping all the dough balls. Air fry at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from air fryer basket and serve warm.

NOTES

Option dough choices: If you don’t have precut biscuit dough roll out pizza dough on a floured cutting board and use kitchen shears or a knife to cut into 4×4 inch squares. If you have puff pastry dough you can follow same process as pizza dough.
Optional ideas for dough topping: baste with unsalted butter and fresh herbs, brush olive oil over top and sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, pinch of sea salt or red pepper flakes. A garlic butter mixture will also taste great.
