Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Puff Pastry
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Cut the puff pastry sheet into two equal squares.
  3. Air fry each piece for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp.
Step 2: Make the Custard
  1. In a saucepan, whisk together milk, heavy cream, sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks.
  3. Slowly pour some of the warm milk mixture into the yolks, whisking constantly.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Step 3: Assemble & Chill
  1. Place one pastry sheet in a square pan.
  2. Pour the custard over it and top with the second pastry sheet.
  3. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Step 4: Serve & Enjoy
  1. Dust with powdered sugar before slicing into squares.
  2. Enjoy chilled for the best texture!
