Step 1: Prepare the Batter
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the egg, brown sugar, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples and nuts if using.
Step 2: Air Fry
- Grease 4 small ramekins or silicone molds that fit in your air fryer.
- Divide the batter evenly among them.
- Preheat the air fryer to 160°C (320°F).
- Air fry for 15–18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 3: Cool & Serve
- Let the cakes cool in the molds for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with caramel.
