Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Batter
  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg, brown sugar, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chopped apples and nuts if using.
Step 2: Air Fry
  1. Grease 4 small ramekins or silicone molds that fit in your air fryer.
  2. Divide the batter evenly among them.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 160°C (320°F).
  4. Air fry for 15–18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 3: Cool & Serve
  1. Let the cakes cool in the molds for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  2. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with caramel.
