Step 1: Prepare the Meat Filling
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until soft.
- Add ground meat, salt, pepper, oregano, and nutmeg. Cook until browned and fully cooked.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
Step 2: Make the Potato Layer
- Mash the boiled potatoes with butter, milk, Parmesan, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
Step 3: Assemble the Pie
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Layer the meat filling in the bottom. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly on top.
- Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
Step 4: Bake
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and crisp.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
