Step 1: Cook the Beef
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic until the meat is browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked beef mixture, diced tomatoes with green chilies, sour cream, taco seasoning, cheddar cheese soup, frozen hash browns, and 2 cups shredded cheese. Mix well.
Step 3: Air Fryer Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 160°C (320°F).
- Transfer mixture into an oven-safe dish that fits inside your air fryer basket (you may need to cook in batches).
- Air fry for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway, until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese on top in the last 5 minutes of cooking.
Slow Cooker Method (Original)
- Transfer the beef mixture into a greased crockpot.
- Cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2 hours.
- Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
