Step 1: Make the Dough
- In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
- Mix in flour, cornmeal, salt, and olive oil. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
- In a skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 15–20 minutes until thickened.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza

- Preheat Air Fryer to 425°F (220°C).
- Grease a deep dish pizza pan with olive oil.
- Press dough into the pan, pushing up the sides to create a tall edge.
- Layer mozzarella cheese on the bottom.
- Add cooked sausage (or beef) evenly over cheese.
- Spoon the tomato sauce on top.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Step 4: Bake
- Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
