Step 1: Make the Dough
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in flour, cornmeal, salt, and olive oil. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 15–20 minutes until thickened.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
    1. Preheat Air Fryer to 425°F (220°C).
    2. Grease a deep dish pizza pan with olive oil.
    3. Press dough into the pan, pushing up the sides to create a tall edge.
    4. Layer mozzarella cheese on the bottom.
    5. Add cooked sausage (or beef) evenly over cheese.
  1. Spoon the tomato sauce on top.
  2. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Step 4: Bake
  1. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  2. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
