Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Batter
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla, then mix in buttermilk.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients into wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Step 2: Layer the Batter & Cinnamon Sugar
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  2. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on top.
  3. Add the remaining batter and smooth the top. Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
Step 3: Bake
  1. Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack.
Step 4: Add the Topping
  1. Brush warm bread with melted butter.
  2. Sprinkle generously with extra cinnamon sugar mixture for a crunchy coating.
