Step 1: Cream Butter and Sugar
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 2: Add Eggs
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Step 3: Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 4: Combine Wet and Dry
- Add dry mixture to the creamed butter-sugar mix alternately with milk, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
Step 5: Bake
- Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 60–70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 6: Cool and Serve
- Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
- Let cool completely before slicing.
