Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Oven & Pan
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a muffin tin with paper liners or spray generously with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
Step 3: Mix the Wet Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, whisk cocoa powder and melted butter until smooth.
  2. Add milk, eggs, and vanilla essence, whisking until the mixture is glossy and well combined.
Step 4: Combine & Fold
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined (do not overmix).
  2. Fold in the chocolate chips for an extra burst of chocolatey goodness.
Step 5: Bake
  1. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
  2. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Step 6: Cool & Serve
  1. Let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Enjoy warm or at room temperature with a glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
