Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, diced butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your hands to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Create a well in the center and pour in the cold buttermilk. Stir gently with a fork until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently until it comes together, being careful not to overwork it.
  6. Roll the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds.
  7. Place the biscuits in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t touching.
  8. Air fry for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.

Chef’s Tips

  • Ensure your butter is very cold before adding it to the flour mixture for the flakiest texture.
  • If you don’t have buttermilk, mix 3/4 cup milk with 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer to ensure even browning.
