Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup of sugar together until smooth and creamy.
- Add 1/2 cup of milk and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
- In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, and the rest of the milk. Then gradually stir this into the flour mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the batter, followed by an even distribution of blueberries on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of ice cream!
Chef’s Tips
- Use fresh blueberries for the best flavor, but you can substitute with frozen ones if necessary—just ensure they are thawed and drained.
- For added texture, sprinkle some crushed nuts on top before baking.
- Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar for an elegant finish.
