Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is browned and onions are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat and add salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using). Stir to combine, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into rectangles, about 4×6 inches.
  5. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture on one side of each pastry rectangle, then top with shredded cheese.
  6. Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and seal the edges with a fork. Make sure they are well sealed to prevent any leaking during baking.
  7. Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped green onions (if desired) and serving.

Chef’s Tips

  • For added flavor, mix in some your favorite herbs or spices into the beef mixture.
  • If you’re short on time, you can use pre-cooked beef or leftover roast beef for the filling.
