Interesting people say, Air Fryer Spam French Fries. You either have had them or heard about them.

Here is a confession: I have never purchased Spam before today, nor have I ever eaten it. There, I said it, now let us move on. (That was important for me to get off my chest, in case you were thinking, I blog and sit at my desk eating Spam)

So, how did this get started, and why did I try this recipe? I have a LARGE (VERY LARGE) Air Frying group that I am proud to be an administrator for. And, so the question received so many negative responses, the person asking the question never got an answer because I took it down. And I blotted it down on my list of what I was going to air fry next.

What Is Spam?
What do I know about Spam? Not much; my mother is a proud Italian woman who, when I told her I was cooking Spam today, looked at me and said what? I said it’s canned meat; she said, can’t you get regular meat? I think that the next time she goes to a grocery store, she will bring me some meat. LOL

This is what I gathered from Wikipedia about Spam because I had to answer the same questions from my kids, so I thought I would have to be armed a little more with knowledge. Spam started during World War II. Not surprisingly, because it’s in a metal can. And, whenever I see metal cans with food, my mind automatically goes there. Here is a real mind-blower, in 2012, 8,000,000,000 cans were sold. That’s BILLIONTH cans, so somebody is buying this.

The ingredients in Spam are meat products but contain gelatin. Which probably is the stuff that made my hands all sticky while making this.

Last year, my son and I watched a program on the food channel where you had to make your best Spam product. Today, I’m making Spam French Fries. My kids tried them, and they didn’t hate them.
