Air Fryer Copycat Cracker Barrel Fried Apples — Every day, we crave that sweet and tangy taste of fried apples. They’re a perfect complement to breakfast, lunch, or even dinner! It’s time to get your Air Fryer out and make these copycat crispy oven-baked Cracker Barrel Fried Apples! You won’t believe how easy they are to make in the air fryer without all the calories.

WHAT ARE THE BEST APPLES TO USE?
There are so many different types of apples. The best apples to use depend on what you’re making. There are tart apples, sweet apples, and even some that have a little bit of both! When it comes to fried apples, go with Granny Smiths or another variety without much sugar in them like Golden Delicious.

Golden Delicious is the brand that Cracker Barrel uses, so if you want a genuinely copycat recipe, use that variety. Otherwise, any of these apple varieties will work:

  • Granny Smith
  • Gala
  • Honeycrisp
  • Golden Declious

SHOULD I PEEL THE AIR FRYER APPLE WEDGES?
I love apple wedges. They’re a great healthy snack to have ready for when you get hungry, but this time I’m not sure if it’s worth peeling them or not.

The results will be the same, so if you want to skip peeling, go for it. While the apple cooks up, the apple peel will soften.

CAN YOU FREEZE CRACKER BARREL FRIED APPLES?
You can freeze them, but they do not defrost well. You will end up with a watered-down apple. So, make a fresh batch in the air fryer for best results when your Cracker Barrel Fried apple craving hits!
